For the Design in Practice Module, we were set a brief by Julian Perkins, head of design at lime studio's, to  create The Spellorium from the book The Apprentice Witch. For my set I was inspired by the Italian Renaissance, churches and grand libraries from around the world and I decided to create a set that embodies these.

For our design in practice, I created a set concept for The Farewell Theatre Company's played Trapped. The set needed to be easily transportable and done on a budget. The sets consist of outlines that create the environments the actors are in. I chose to create a simple set like this as would be easily transportable and cost effective.

For this university module I was given the opportunity to create a Light Entertainment Set and logo, which I was really excited to do. I decided to create a stage for a music competition which mainly features around a band. I came up with the idea of having this stage that is influenced heavily by instruments.  So the main stage resembles a shape of a guitar with a long walkway along the neck of the guitar, and then having these two circular areas coming off opposite ends of the stage that reminded me of a drum set. I also added different levels along the stage as well as lots  of layers to make for a more interesting setting. To create these visuals, logos and floorplans I used SketchUp, Layout, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.

This was created for the University Module: Design for Location. I had to create a basic plotline, find suitable locations to edit, and draw-up floorplans that fit the locations and create visuals. I based the plot in a fishing village and chose four locations, a fish and chip shop, bar, tackle shop and flat. Due to Covid restrictions, I could not go into buildings to measure for the floorplan, so, I chose locations I knew well in order to create a realistic floorplan. I then created interior visuals, floorplans and storyboards by hand, before creating the exterior locations using photography and photoshop.

I also created two sets for 'Hobson's Choice' for the module, Design for Drama Set.  This was created with Sketchup and Photoshop.
